About Kenny
Kenny Miller is a local legend in the electrical industry. His person has become synonymous with the inspiration of excellence: a gift for uplifting and encouraging the people around him, and a commitment to the trade that touched so many lives it became his life's work.
These days Kenny is on a well-earned quest to retire. The Kenny Miller Foundation exists so that his legacy of mentorship, teaching, and service to the electrical profession does not fade away, but multiplies.
The Vision
The Foundation is a non-profit, currently being formed, that carries on and multiplies Kenny's work. Its key areas of concern are:
Outreach
To inspire anyone with an interest in the electrical field to go after it; to go as far with it as they possibly can, to never stop believing in themselves, and to offer them a helping hand at every step of the way.
Education
To freely share knowledge, to make available materials, and to provide frameworks to anyone wanting to further themselves; no matter if they are a middle school student or a seasoned Electrical Engineer.
Grants and Scholarships
To remove barriers; to make financial burdens irrelevant to anyone wanting to pursue their goals in the industry.
Networking and Advocacy
To work with the community, professional organizations, schools, universities, governments, and other entities to promote the positive and respectable image of the electrical profession it deserves; and to advocate for the importance of structured training, certification, and licensing of electrical professionals.
Where We Are
The first letters have gone out, and the response has been encouraging. An online introduction meeting is planned for everyone who signaled interest. The next steps are forming the 501(c)(3) organization and assembling a founding board of directors. The reach is intended to be national, across the United States.
